Most recently, Charles Krypell is proud to announce the opening of our new Flagship Store in Long Island, New York.
With an inimitable style created through a combination of unprecedented design, which transcends time, Charles Krypell continues to innovate in the industry with the guiding philosophy that a multifaceted always evolving woman should be adorned with jewelry to match. He has hand-selected each piece of jewelry to be in the store to provide the most incredible selection and retail experience imaginable for all who come to adore.
Charles’ design approach and his ability to connect with his customers stems from three decades of creating timeless jewelry for the sophisticated collector. A native New Yorker, Charles realized his calling as a designer while attending Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. During this transformation period, Charles was fortunate to apprentice and work alongside master carver turned sculptor, Toshio Odate.
Before jewelry, Charles enjoyed working in three-dimensional media, including clay, wood, brass, and stone. Many of these iconic designs are featured today at various museums and sporting arenas worldwide, including the Philadelphia Football Statue at the site of Old Veteran’s Stadium, Philadelphia PA.
In the latter part of the decade, Charles transformed his traditional sculpture and porcelain creations into Sterling Silver designs, creating his first jewelry collection. Utilizing his three dimensional approach in design, Charles was able to envision and bring to life jewelry that was profoundly unique encompassing movement, shape, and form. Charles was well ahead of his acumen, gaining immediate recognition for his creativity in design.
Officially launching in the historic Diamond District of New York City, Krypell began producing his first complete collections of Sterling Silver jewelry. At a time when most jewelry designers were conditioned to create jewelry as serious rather than fun, Charles’ Silver Collections were designed to be worn with ease and corresponded to the bold and beautiful aesthetics of the decade.
Channeling his inner artistic talent, Charles continued to challenge himself in design whereby his aesthetic was evolving and maturing, sparking the confidence to create the iconic Krypell Collection. (right)
This collection gained mainstream media attention and popularity due to its first-of-a-kind flowing designs and shapely elegance. Metals were transformed and sculpture scaled into what looked like soft moving silk and geometric form, all while utilizing perfectly calibrated rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and diamonds set in Platinum and 18k gold.
Charles was fully immersed into the jewelry designer spotlight and began securing full page national marketing campaigns in Town & Country, Vogue, and Departures publications. Clearly ahead of his time both in design as well as in business, Charles Krypell was naturally evolving as the preeminent jewelry designer in the world market. As stated, ‘Charles designs jewelry meant to be enjoyed from multiple approaches, just like a piece of finely envisioned sculpture. His designs matured into creations that were enjoyed by clients and collectors alike in every moment and when adorned at all angles. Thus, his introduction to national advertising needed to reflect his core vision of dimensionality. “A woman needs to be animated,” exclaims Charles. “She needs to fully experience the dimensional world in front of her.”
